RELEASE -- Hill House Adds New Executive Chef Joshua Slaughter


The Historic Hill House and Farm is excited to announce the hiring of Joshua Slaughter in the role of Executive Chef.  Josh brings to the team a rich culinary background with over 25 years in the restaurant industry, starting and running a number of award-winning restaurants. 

After graduating from culinary school, Josh trained under a number of well-known chefs and restaurateurs, including Thomas Keller in Napa and Wiley Dufresne in New York City.  Josh’s culinary adventures have taken him all over the United States, including Birmingham, San Francisco, Napa, Alaska, Seattle, New York City, and now Houston.

About The Historic Hill House and Farm

Originally constructed in 1885, The Historic Hill House and Farm is a boutique country inn, restaurant, and event venue located in the Sam Houston National Forest between New Waverly and Coldspring, an hour north of Houston.  Renovated and repurposed in early 2018, our charming property is expanding again with the opening of a new restaurant and event venue in February 2020.  Constructed using two mid-1800s hand-hewn antique barns, the space exudes rustic elegance and complements our historic farmhouse, 108 picturesque acres, and specialized staff.
