Don't miss the opportunity to visit and explore a one-of-a-kind
historic Texas property
From the moment you enter the grounds, you know you are visiting a special place. Originally built in 1885 by J.C. Hill, The Historic Hill House and Farm occupies 108 acres of beautiful land and offers a quintessential "country" escape. The property sits between New Waverly and Coldspring in the Sam Houston National Forest, conveniently located just a short 60 mile drive from Houston. Come stay with us and enjoy one of the few Texas homes built in the 19th century.
Our boutique country inn has hosted guests and travelers for over 130 years and offers a genuinely unique setting for your upcoming vacation or event. The Historic Hill House's seven guest rooms and suites offer charm, comfort, and modernity. Our upscale all-inclusive country dining program compliments the environment and leaves you impressed and satisfied. Finally, abundant activities and amenities give guests the opportunity to be as active as they desire.
The Historic Hill House is an attractive vacation destination for couples seeking a romantic weekend getaway or families looking for a country adventure. To best accommodate both types of guests, the property is limited to adults during Fall, Winter, and Spring. Children are welcome during the summer months between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Spring Break, Holiday weekends, or if the entire property is rented.
