A property rich in Texas history

Original Owners #1.JPG

The Historic Hill House and Farm has been hosting guests and travelers for over 130 years. Originally constructed in 1885 by J.C. Hill, The Historic Hill House and Farm offers a quintessential “country” escape for your family or group. Just an hour north of Houston, the property covers roughly 108 acres and enjoys rolling hills, beautiful vistas, ample wildlife, and countless stars.

In 1966, Drury Blakeley Alexander featured the property in the book Texas Homes of the 19th Century by (University of Texas Press, June 1, 1966) as one of only a handful of Texas homes from the 1800s. In it, the home was recognized for its use of "room-on-the-porch" architectural design and being "settled picturesquely in its house yard amid moss-draped trees."

In early 2017, the Bradbury family acquired the property with the intent of using the property as a retreat for its young and growing family. Owner Michael Bradbury had long desired to tackle a substantial renovation project, and he got it with this one. Once purchased and in the planning phase, the vision for the property shifted. The family wanted to open the property to the public and decided to run it as an inn/ bed and breakfast.

Michael designed the expansion and renovation of the property to appeal to a broad range of guests seeking a unique, charming, and high-end experience. These guests include families wanting an active and nature-focused vacation, couples searching for a relaxing and romantic getaway, groups hosting intimate retreats, and couples looking for an exclusive wedding venue.

I love everything about The Historic Hill House and Farm: what it was, what it has become, and what it is capable of. From the moment I laid eyes on it, I recognized its sheer potential. I want guests to feel as though it is their own personal vacation home.
